Achievements
Today, the Filatov Institute is a national center for scientific research in the most relevant subspecialties of ophthalmology.
This is the leading state institution of Ukraine, which carries out research, clinical, organizational, methodological, and educational activities on ophthalmology problems.
Full name: State Institution "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine."
Scientists of the Institute present Ukrainian science at world international congresses, meetings, conferences, and symposia. Over the almost 90-year history, many discoveries have been made that have determined the vector for the development of world ophthalmology. Until now, ophthalmologists around the world are using the method of corneal transplantation, developed by academician V.P. Filatov, using a laser in the treatment of ophthalmopathology, which was first used here in 1963.
The constant scientific development and achievements of our employees make the Filatov Institute the leader not only in Ukrainian but also in world ophthalmology.
