Doctor of Philosophy

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health Care is an educational and at the same time first degree obtained in the third level of higher education on the basis of a master's degree in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, medical and psychological rehabilitation, etc.
This third educational and scientific level of higher education corresponds to the eighth qualification level of the National Framework of Qualifications and provides for the person's obtaining theoretical knowledge, skills and other competencies sufficient to produce new ideas, solving complex problems in the field of professional and/or research and innovation activities, mastering the methodology of scientific and pedagogical activities, as well as conducting his own scientific research, the results of which have scientific novelty, theoretical and practical importance.
PhD first began to be nominated at the University of Bologna in 1130 and in 1231. - at the University of Paris. In most European Union countries, Mexico, the United States and Canada, PhD remains the highest degree.
In Ukraine, a person has the right to obtain Ph.D. in health care during his postgraduate studies in specialties determined in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of April 29, 2015 № 266 “On approval of the list of fields of knowledge and specialties for which higher education applicants are trained”.
People who professionally carry out scientific, scientific and technical or scientific and pedagogical activities at the main place of work have the right to obtain Ph.D. outside of graduate school, in particular during their sabbatical, provided that they successfully perform the relevant educational and scientific program and publicly defend their dissertation in a specialized scientific council.
