    Specialized Academic Council (D 41.556.01) “The Filatov Institute of eye diseases and tissue therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”

    Specialized Academic Council in the Filatov Institute was founded according to order № 537-в from 18.05.1976 of the Department of Personnel Certification and Licensing of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The Council is entitled to take the defense of a thesis on specialty 14.01.18 - “Ophthalmology”. Since its foundation 489 theses (69 MD and 420 PhD) were defended in the Council (dated July, 2021).

    There were dissertators from Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Greece, Jordan, Cuba, Syria, Nigeria, India, Malta, Palestine, Ghana, Peru, Tunisia.

    There were no rejected by DPCL MESU doctoral or candidate dissertations, as well as comments on the preparation of documents.

    The first chairman of the council (from the moment the council was founded until April 1998) was academician N.A. Puchkovskaya. Since 1998 to 2000 she became honorary chairman of the council. Since 1998 until 2003 the chairman of the council was doctor of medical sciences, professor I.M. Logay. From 2004 to the present, the chairman of the council is the director of the Institute, a member-correspondent NAMS of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Natalia V. Pasechnikova.
