We are raising a new generation of children who have a lifestyle oriented towards electronic devices. Although computers and portable devices are becoming more of a necessity than a luxury, our children should not be an inseparable part of them. After all, it is advisable to follow the recommendations that children 7-18 years old spend no more than 2 hours on gadgets. And children under 7 years old do not use them at all.

Often parents get tired of fighting the harmful habit of the child’s detached existence with a mobile phone, tablet, computer and other electronic devices. And we adults often have the temptation to give up, believing that our children will sooner or later have to learn to be technically savvy.

You can be calm if your children spend up to two hours a day with gadgets. It’s safe. But beware of the following health problems that may arise from too much time spent in front of the gadget and electronic devices, in addition to the risk of addiction: dry eyes, burning, concentration problems… These are symptoms of eye fatigue that all gadget users face.

Bright light, high screen contrast, glare and flickering images can make the game or video more exciting, but in fact they negatively affect your children’s eyes. If you squint at a small portable device, it only exacerbates the situation. The gadget-obsessed child also blinks less, which further reduces the quality of image perception on the screen.

In addition, refusal of active rest exposes children to the risk of developing myopia.

Children rarely have headaches, but too much time in front of the screen can cause headaches. The usual cause is a combination of muscle tension at the base of the skull and eye irritation, as well as constant stress and fatigue.

The time spent on the device may be insignificant, but studies have shown that excessive use of gadgets increases the level of stress.

Constant stress over a long period can adversely affect the cardiovascular system, digestive organs, sleep and psycho-emotional state.

Too long on the device not only exhausts the brain, but also tires the body.

Prolonged immobility impairs blood circulation and can cause stress on the muscles and joints. The result is fatigue, even without moving much.

Studies have confirmed that the impact of mobile phones and other devices can cause changes in brain activity and sleep disorders. This can also be a sign of stress.

When it seems that your child’s vision is insufficient, it’s time to check your eyes. Call us soon. Phone numbers of the Filatov Institute:
