Health
02.07.2024To minimize the negative impact of screens on your eyes, follow these additional tips:
- Regular eye examinations: regular visits to an ophthalmologist help detect and correct eye problems in time.
- Vision correction: if you have vision issues, be sure to wear glasses or contact lenses.
- Special filters and glasses: use screen filters or specialized glasses designed for computer work to reduce the impact of blue light.
- Appropriate work conditions: use ergonomic chairs and tables to maintain proper body posture and minimize strain on your neck and back.
- Lighting: ensure proper lighting in your workspace. Avoid screen glare by using curtains or blinds on windows, and position lamps so that light doesn’t reflect off the screen.
- Screen position: your computer screen is at arm’s length, with the top edge at eye level or slightly below.
- Brightness and contrast: make sure screen brightness and contrast are comfortable for your eyes. Avoid screens that are too bright or too dim.
- Text and image size: increase the size of text and images on the screen to reduce eye strain during reading.
- 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break and look at an object about 20 feet (approximately 6 meters) away.
- Frequent breaks: take regular breaks from computer work to give your eyes a rest. Ideally, take a 5-10 minute break every hour.
- Use moisturizing eye drops: during prolonged computer use, your eyes may become dry. Use moisturizing eye drops to prevent discomfort.
- Eye exercises: such as circular eye movements, frequent blinking, and focusing on near and distant objects.
Following these recommendations will help maintain eye health and overall well-being during prolonged computer work.
