Ukrainian Experience in Focus at NOG 2026: A Contribution to the Development of Global Ophthalmology

On March 25–26, 2026, the Dutch Ophthalmological Congress NOG 2026 was held in Groningen, the Netherlands, bringing together leading specialists from the global ophthalmology community.

By invitation of Prof. Camiel Boon and the President of the Dutch Ophthalmological Society, Prof. Vingerling, the Congress was attended by Nadiia Ulyanova, MD, PhD, Professor, Head of the Department of Post-Traumatic Ocular Pathology, Glaucoma, and Lens Pathology at the State Institution “The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the NAMS of Ukraine.”

During the event, Prof. Nadiia Ulyanova presented the results of her research on the treatment of complex blast-related ocular injuries and delivered a presentation titled: “Practical aspects of ‘pole to pole’ surgery in severe combat-related ocular trauma.”

This was a unique opportunity to present Ukrainian clinical experience on the international stage, share approaches to managing severe ocular trauma under modern challenges, and represent Ukrainian medicine with dignity at a highly respected international forum. The presented experience is of great importance for the advancement of global ophthalmology.

We sincerely thank Prof. Nadiia Ulyanova for her significant contribution and for representing Ukraine at the international level with distinction.
