On March 13–14, 2026, the First All-Ukrainian Congress “Metabolic Health: Interdisciplinary Aspects” was held in Odesa, bringing together specialists from various fields of medicine to discuss current issues in the prevention and treatment of metabolic disorders.

The congress served as an important platform for professional dialogue among physicians on modern approaches to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of metabolic disorders. Particular emphasis was placed on interdisciplinary collaboration in patient management, which is a key factor in delivering effective medical care.

Significant attention was drawn to the presentation by Professor Andrii Rostyslavovych Korol, Head of the Department for the Study of Biological Effects and the Application of Lasers in Ophthalmology, and Deputy Director for Innovation and External Relations at the The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. His report highlighted important aspects of the impact of diabetes mellitus on the development of diabetic retinopathy.

The presentation emphasized the importance of a comprehensive and individualized approach to the prevention and treatment of diabetes-related complications, taking into account the specific characteristics of each patient.

Participation in such scientific and practical events contributes to the continuous professional development of physicians, the exchange of experience, and the implementation of modern evidence-based approaches in medical practice.
