SOIE Symposium with patricipation of Moorfields Eye Hospital took place in Lausanne, Switzerland on June 28–29, 2024. By personal invitation from Professor Karl P. Herbort, the symposium was attended by Deputy Director for Scientific and Educational Work, Professor, DMedSc, Head of the Department of Inflammatory Pathology of the Eye of the State Institution “The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,” Olexandra Zborovska, along with research scientist of the Department of Inflammatory Pathology of the Eye, Olexandra Dorokhova.

The event centered around cutting-edge and revolutionary innovations in ophthalmology. The symposium provided a forum for exchanging information and new ideas related to clinical practice, research and therapeutic management of patients with inflammatory eye diseases with in-depth discussion of diagnosis and treatment strategies for specific inflammatory diseases. Key topics included an overview of ocular inflammatory conditions, updates on fundamentals and innovations in 2024, infectious and non-infectious uveitis, visualization methods, biological imaging foundations for uveitis, new visualization techniques such as indocyanine green angiography, non-invasive approaches, inflammatory choroidal neoplasms, recent developments regarding toxoplasmosis and herpes. Additionally, the symposium explored new treatment methods, including approaches to managing cystoid macular edema.
