📢 Important for educators, researchers, students and applicants! The Law of Ukraine “On Academic Integrity” entered into force on February 1, 2026, and will and will be implemented on July 31, 2026 (six months after its official publication). During this period, the Government is required to adopt all necessary by-laws and align existing regulatory documents with the new law. 🔎 What is academic integrity? Academic integrity is a system of values, principles, and rules that must be observed by all participants in the educational and research process, including medical educators, researchers, students, experts, competition organizers, educational institutions, and research organizations. ⚠️ The law clearly defines violations, including:
  • plagiarism and self-plagiarism
  • data fabrication and falsification
  • copying and unauthorized assistance
  • non-independent completion of assignments
  • improper use of AI-generated results
  • unlawful attribution of authorship, sabotage, and others
📌 Possible consequences of violations:
  • annulment of work results or grades
  • disqualification from participation in competitions
  • disciplinary sanctions or dismissal
  • revocation of academic degrees or qualifications
  • prohibition from holding managerial positions for up to 10 years
Academic responsibility is applied only after an officially established violation. Individuals may be held accountable from the age of 14 (for minors, with the involvement of parents or legal guardians). Educational institutions and research organizations are entitled to establish their own sanctions in accordance with the law.
