The Romanian Journal of Ophthalmology (RJO) is an inclusive and integrated open-access journal dedicated to disseminating knowledge about ophthalmology across various policy sectors and national and international contexts. The journal’s primary goal is to publish research with high translational value, making a wide range of conclusions accessible not only to ophthalmologists but also to other professionals.

In the second issue of the 68th volume (April-June 2024) of the Romanian Journal of Ophthalmology, professionals from the Department of Studying Biological Action and Application of Lasers in Ophthalmology (Guzun O.V., Zadorozhnyy O.S., Korol A.R.), the Immunological Research Laboratory (Velychko L.M., Bohdanova O.V.) of SI "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine", and ophthalmologists from the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the Republic of Moldova (Lilia Gheorghe Dumbrăveanu, Vitalie Valeriu Cuşnir) published a study titled “The Effect of Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1 and Glycated Hemoglobin on the Management of Diabetic Neovascular Glaucoma.” The research aimed to determine the impact of baseline blood levels of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) on the management and treatment of patients with diabetic neovascular glaucoma using transscleral cyclophotocoagulation.

The Romanian Journal of Ophthalmology (RJO) is published by the Romanian Society of Ophthalmology and is indexed in Scopus.
