A comprehensive three-volume textbook has been published “GENERAL PRACTICE – FAMILY MEDICINE: PRACTICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES,” prepared by a distinguished interdisciplinary team of leading Ukrainian scientists and clinicians and edited by Professor L.S. Babinets.

The textbook contains modern algorithms for developing key practical skills and professional competencies in general practice/family medicine at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels of education. The material is based on current national and international clinical protocols and standards for the provision of primary care, ensuring its high practical value and relevance.

The publication derives particular scientific and practical significance from the participation of staff members of the State Institution “V.P. Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,” namely:

• N.V. Konovalova — Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor;
• O.S. Zadorozhny — Doctor of Medical Sciences, Senior Researcher;
• O.V. Guzun — Candidate of Medical Sciences, Research Associate.

Their contribution ensures the integration of modern ophthalmological approaches, particularly innovative methods of laser therapy and interdisciplinary collaboration, into the practice of family medicine, which is extremely important for the timely diagnosis and referral of patients at the primary care level.
