On July 25, a solemn event was held at the Odesa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater to mark Medical Workers’ Day.

In a festive atmosphere, heartfelt congratulations were extended to those who stand guard over the health of our citizens every day — our esteemed medical professionals. On behalf of the regional authorities and the medical community, words of gratitude, deep respect, and appreciation were expressed for their diligent work, professionalism, dedication to their calling, and selflessness during challenging times for the country.

During the ceremony, state awards and honorary distinctions were presented for high professionalism, devotion, significant contributions to providing medical care, and active civic engagement.

Oleksandra Volodymyrivna Zborovska — Deputy Director for Scientific and Educational Work, Head of the Department of Inflammatory Pathology of the Eye, DMedSc, Professor — was awarded the President of Ukraine’s Distinction “For the Defense of Ukraine.”

This prestigious award recognizes her valuable contribution to safeguarding the health of Ukrainian defenders, as well as her active role in organizing the provision of medical assistance during martial law.
