Every year on November 11, Ukraine and the world  celebrate Ophthalmologist's Day—a professional holiday dedicated to physicians who safeguard people's vision every day, helping them see the world in all its colors. This day is not only an opportunity to express gratitude to ophthalmologists but also to emphasize the importance of eye disease prevention, early diagnosis, and advanced  treatment.

A special place in Ukrainian ophthalmology belongs to the SI "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the NAMS of Ukraine." A leading scientific and medical institution, known far beyond the borders of our country. For more than a century, the Institute has remained a flagship of ophthalmic research, clinical practice, innovation, and the education of highly qualified specialists.

Today, during one of the most challenging periods in Ukraine's history, the ophthalmologists of the Filatov Institute continue their noble mission by providing specialised care for patients with the most severe eye injuries, including military personnel wounded during the war. Thanks to the unique expertise of the Institute's specialists and the use of advanced microsurgical, reconstructive, and restorative ophthalmic techniques, many defenders of Ukraine have the opportunity to preserve or regain their vision.

Ophthalmologist's Day is also a day of gratitude to all doctors whose daily work restores one of the greatest human gifts—the ability to see. Their dedication enables people to see their loved ones, read, work, and enjoy a full and independent life.

💙💛 Our sincere gratitude to the ophthalmologists of the Filatov Institute for their dedication, professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to patient care.

Your work brings light to people's lives, even in the darkest of times.
