On May 16, 2024, as part of the scientific-practical conference “Filatov Memorial Lectures 2024,” a masterclass for ophthalmologists “Methods of Extracapsular IOL Fixation” took place. During this event, Volodymyr Melnyk presented cutting-edge technologies and techniques used in cataract surgery. Participants in the masterclass had the opportunity not only to observe the surgery in real-time but also to ask questions, discuss complex cases,and exchange experiences with colleagues.

The main topics covered in the masterclass included:

• Differentiated Approach to IOL Fixation Selection

Attention was given to new approaches that minimize tissue trauma and shorten the recovery period for patients. The masterclass also included practical sessions where ophthalmologists could practice applying various techniques on educational models.

Such events play a crucial role in enhancing the qualifications of ophthalmologists and implementing new technologies in clinical practice, ultimately improving the quality of medical care for cataract patients.
