In the Department of Pathology of Retina and Vitreous Body of the State Institution 'The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine,' an interesting case of treating a patient with vision impairment due to a cystic formation in the eye occurred. The patient came to the department in December after this formation was detected in a private clinic. After a thorough examination by ophthalmologists of the Institute, a cystic formation in the eye was identified. Therapeutic treatment was conducted. However, by February, the cyst had increased, causing certain changes in the retina (subretinal fibrosis), and vision deteriorated to 40%.

Following a consultation with experts, it was decided to proceed with surgical treatment. Thanks to the professionalism of the team led by the head of the department, DMedSc Mykola Umanets, the cyst was successfully removed.
