At the First Congress of Vitreoretinal Surgeons of Ukraine, the founder of the Odesa School of Vitreoretinal Surgery, Professor Rodin Stanislav, was presented to the Hall of Honor by the Ukrainian Vitreoretinal Society. The main areas of scientific activity of S. Rodin were the development of new methods of drug treatment of exogenous bacterial endophthalmitis, diagnosis and surgical treatment of retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy and macular pathology.
He headed the department of vitreoretinal and laser surgery of SI "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine" during 2004-2009. Thanks to his developments and techniques, thousands of operated patients received vision!
