On 13–15 November 2025, the Congress dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Slovak Ophthalmological Society (SOS) took place in Bratislava. The Congress brought together leading ophthalmologists from around the world. It provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in the care of patients with visual impairments.

Ukraine was represented by Professor Mykola Mykolaiovych Umanets. He is the President of the Ukrainian Vitreoretinal Society and Head of the Department of Retinal and Vitreous Pathology at the Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

At the Congress, Professor Umanets presented unique experience in the use of high-frequency electric welding technology for biological tissues during the resection of choroidal hemangiomas. The presentation demonstrated a high level of professional expertise. It also attracted strong interest from Congress participants.

The Filatov Institute is proud that its specialist delivered a structured and engaging presentation. The presentation impressed the international audience and represented Ukraine with distinction on the global ophthalmological stage.
