February 15 – International Operating Room Nurse Day
Today we honor those without whom no surgery would be possible— operating room nurses. These are the professionals who ensure sterility, procedural precision, patient safety, and support for the surgical team during the most critical moments.
The Role of the operating room nurses in Ophthalmology
In ophthalmic surgery, precision is measured in microns, and time in seconds. Therefore the professionalism of the operating room nurses is particularly important here: from instrument preparation to maintaining aseptic conditions and ensuring effective teamwork.
At the V.P. Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, operating room nurses are an integral part of the high-tech medical team. They participate in complex microsurgical procedures, the implementation of innovative techniques, and the training of young specialists within the postgraduate education system.
🌷 We sincerely thank you for the care, patience, and warmth you offer people alongside your professional expertise. May your work always be duly appreciated, and may every operating day end in success and restored vision.
