The roundtable on “Vitreoretinal Surgery of Combat Eye Trauma” took place in Kyiv on April 5, 2024.

Specialists in ophthalmotraumatology from the State Institution “The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” presented their findings. Professor Nadia Ulyanova, DMedSc, Head of the Department of Post-Traumatic Eye Pathology, had a report on “Surgical Treatment of Severe Combat Eye Trauma.” DMedSc Mykola Umanets, Head of the Department of Pathology of the Cornea and Vitreous Body, presented a case report on “Surgical Treatment of Macular Rupture Due to High-Intensity Light Exposure in Military Personnel.”

The roundtable discussed current issues regarding the use of modern technologies in the near future for vitreoretinal surgery of combat eye trauma and highlighted many areas of discussion.
