We inform you that the SI “Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the NAMS of Ukraine” successfully passed the state evaluation of research institutions and higher education institutions in 2025.

The evaluation covered scientific and research and development activities.

As a result, the Institute confirmed its high scientific potential. It also received the prestigious Category B in the research field “Biomedical”.

The assignment of Category B recognizes the Institute’s significant contribution to national science. It also confirms its high scientific capacity, research performance, publication activity, innovation potential, and importance for healthcare and society.

The state evaluation was conducted according to a methodology aligned with international best practices. It was implemented with the support of the joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the World Bank, UIHERP — “Improving Higher Education for Results Project in Ukraine”.

The results will form the basis for a new science funding model in Ukraine from 2026. The model includes five-year baseline funding based on institutional performance. It also expands opportunities for participation in competitive and international programs.

The Filatov Institute has strengthened its status as a leading scientific center in biomedical research and ophthalmology.
