A team of scientists from the Filatov Institute (a corresponding member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Natalya Pasyechnikova, Professor Nadia Ulyanova, MD Oksana Sidak-Petretska) has published a new monograph “Reconstructive Surgery of Combat Eye Injury”. The monograph collects and analyzes the experience of the department of post-traumatic eye pathology of the Filatov Institute for the last few years. The work is dedicated to reconstructive surgery of combat eye injuries and covers such issues: epidemiology of eye injuries during war period in historical aspect, structure and modern classification of eye injuries, detailed examination of the injured, general approaches to reconstructive surgeries on the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. Special attention is paid to the searching, determining the location and removing intraocular foreign bodies.

The team of authors donated several copies of this book to the scientific library of the Filatov Institute and the head of the library Dmytro Gorshkov and his colleagues express their gratitude to all the authors.
