CABINET OF MINISTERS OF UKRAINE APPROVES PROCEDURE FOR PROVIDING SUPPORT TO PERSONS WHO LOST THEIR VISION DURING THE DEFENCE OF UKRAINE

On 27 May 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 674, which approved the Procedure  for implementing a joint project with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society to provide support to certain categories of persons who fully or partially lost their vision while defending the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

According to the approved Procedure, combat veterans and persons with disabilities resulting from war who have experienced full or partial vision loss during the defence of Ukraine will be entitled to receive a one-time financial assistance .This assistance is intended for the purchase of household appliances and specialised assistive devices required for daily living and increased independence in daily life.

The maximum amount of assistance is up to UAH 95,000.

These funds may be used to purchase, in particular, smartphones with voice assistants, laptops with screen-reading software, specialised devices for working with visual information, reading machines, medical devices with voice guidance functions, and other assistive technologies that support the social adaptation of persons with visual impairments.

Applications for participation in the project will be accepted from 1 to 31 July 2026.
