6–8 July 2026, an international in-person course, “Medical Retina,” took place in Paris (France), organised by the ESASO Foundation (European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology), one of the leading international educational platforms in the field of ophthalmology.

For almost 20 years, ESASO has provided independent and impartial professional education for ophthalmologists, contributing to the dissemination of up-to-date knowledge and the development of international professional cooperation.

Inna Dovhan, an ophthalmologist from the Department of Vitreoretinal Microsurgery of the SI "Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the NAMS of Ukraine" took part in the course.

Over the course of three intensive days of training, participants deepened their knowledge of modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases. The programme combined lectures by leading international experts, clinical case discussions, professional exchanges, and the sharing of practical experience with colleagues from different countries.

For young specialists, participation in such international educational events of this kind provides an important opportunity not only to acquire up-to-date professional knowledge, but also to learn about current trends in the development of vitreoretinal ophthalmology, discuss clinical approaches with international experts, and establish professional contacts.

The SI " Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine" expresses its gratitude to the Ophthalmologists’ Society of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Vitreoretinal Society for their support of the professional development of young specialists.

The new knowledge, international experience, and professional networking gained during the course will provide an important foundation for the further professional development of Inna Dovhan and contribute to the implementation of modern approaches in daily clinical practice.
