On 26 July 2026, the 10th Anniversary Ceremony of the Order of Saint Panteleimon Awards took place, once again affirming that Ukraine's greatest asset is its people. Those who, through their professional expertise, responsibility, and compassion, dedicate themselves every day to saving lives, protecting health, advancing medical science, and strengthening the nation's healthcare system.
The Order of Saint Panteleimon is one of the most prestigious public honours in Ukraine's healthcare sector. It is awarded for outstanding professionalism, humanism values, devotion to the medical profession, and significant contributions to the development of Ukrainian medicine.
The anniversary ceremony was a tribute to doctors, nurses, researchers, military medics, volunteers and heads of medical institutions, who, through their daily work, demonstrate that true miracles are born of knowledge, experience, self-sacrifice and love for people.
For the SI "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the NAMS of Ukraine", this event holds special significance. On 27 July2025, during the official Order of Saint Panteleimon Award Ceremony held in Kyiv, the Institute received high public recognition for its achievements.
In the "Stronghold of Health" nomination, the SI "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the NAMS of Ukraine" was named the winner. The Institute is a leading scientific and clinical centre for ophthalmology, combining fundamental and applied scientific research, highly specialised ophthalmic care, the implementation of innovative technologies, and the training of highly qualified specialists.

A distinguished individual award in the "Innovator of the Year" nomination was presented to Dr Mykola Mykolayovych Umanets, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Professor, Head of the Department of Retinal and Vitreous Pathologyat the Institute, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the advancement of advanced ophthalmology and the implementation of innovative treatment methods that have significantly improved the effectiveness of ophthalmic care for patients.
These awards reflect the many years of systematic work carried out by the Filatov Institute's staff, the high standards of its scientific research and clinical practice, and its unwavering commitment to its core mission—preserving vision and improving patients' quality of life.
