Under Resolution No. 14/9 of the Bureau of the Presidium of the NAMS of Ukraine, adopted on July 23, 2026, Levon Rubenovich Nikoghosyan, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Professor, has been appointed Acting Director of the SI ‘V. P. Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the NAMS of Ukraine’. The appointment took effect on July 28, 2026.

The Filatov Institute continues its work. It ensures the continuity of its scientific, clinical and educational activities whilst upholding its long-standing traditions.

The Institute's strategic priorities include implementing new initiatives and advancing current ophthalmology. They also include introducing innovative technologies, expanding international cooperation, and strengthening its position as one of Ukraine's leading scientific and medical centres.
