On 31 October 2025, the Scientific Library of the V. P. Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the NAMS of Ukraine hosted the educational lecture and seminar "Nobel Week 2025", organised for members of the Council of Young Researchers, postgraduate students, interns, and young physicians of the Institute.
The event took place in the warm and inspiring atmosphere of the library's reading room. Young researchers gathered to join the tradition of honouring the most significant achievements of modern science.
The opening address was delivered by Dmytro Volodymyrovych Horshkov, Head of the Scientific Library. He emphasised the importance of Nobel Week for the global scientific community and the value of promoting fundamental research among young people.
The event programme included:
- Screening of video presentations about the 2025 Nobel Prizes in Physiology or Medicine, Physics, and Chemistry.
- A video lecture and review of scientific achievements by the well-known science communicator Irina Yakutenko.
- A discussion of the scientific and humanitarian significance of this year's discoveries and their interdisciplinary nature.
- An interactive quiz, "Nobel Facts and Discoveries," followed by an informal tea gathering.
Participants noted that such meetings inspire their own scientific research, encourage the exchange of ideas, and strengthen connections between generations of researchers.
The event concluded with a group photo session, the presentation of commemorative publications, and recommendations for further reading from the library's collections, including books, articles, and multimedia materials about the Nobel Prize laureates in Physiology or Medicine.
