Experts and Researchers of the SI “The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the NAMS of Ukraine” at the International SUO Congress “Ophthalmic Light. Ophthalmic Surgery in Ukraine 2025”
On November 21–22, Kyiv hosted one of the most significant events of the year in ophthalmology — the SUO Congress “OPHTHALMIC LIGHT. Ophthalmic Surgery in Ukraine 2025”, which brought together more than 800 participants and 100 speakers from Ukraine, Poland, Germany, the United States, Egypt, Brazil, India, and other countries.
Global trends, advanced technologies, and innovative clinical solutions provided a platform for the exchange of experience among leading ophthalmologists from around the world.
The SI “The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the NAMS of Ukraine” was among the key participants of the Congress.
Our specialists actively presented their own developments, research results and unique clinical experience. The Institute contributed to sessions and presentations in the fields of ocular trauma, macular pathology, and keratopathies, as well as in the Institute’s dedicated special session.

✅ Ocular Trauma Section: presentations included “Stages of Surgical Treatmentof Combat Eye Injury” (O. Sidak-Petretska, N. Ulianova, I. Yakymenko, L. Vanishvili) and “Long-Term Outcomes of Transciliary Vitrectomy for Sclopetarian Chorioretinitis Following Blast Trauma” (N. Ulianova, O. Sidak-Petretska, N. Bondar). At the initiative of Volodymyr Melnyk, the recording of this session will be submitted to the ESCRS for publication on its platform, providing an opportunity to present our experience in the surgical management of severe ocular trauma at the international level.
