Diagnosis and Treatment of Vitreoretinal Pathology

SI "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine” invites ophthalmologists to attend a 72-hour training course entitled ‘Diagnosis and Treatment of Vitreoretinal Pathology’.

The course programme covers modern aspects of the diagnosis, conservative and surgical treatment of diseases of the retina and vitreous body, which are among the leading causes of vision loss and blindness worldwide.

Over the course of two weeks, participants will be introduced to current issues in vitreoretinal surgery, including:

rhegmatogenous retinal detachment and its complicated forms;

modern methods of treating retinal detachment;

prevention and treatment of post-detachment maculopathy;

proliferative diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular oedema;

modern approaches to anti-angiogenic therapy;

macular tears and epiretinal membranes;

the use of expanding gases and silicone oil in vitreoretinal surgery;

features of treating of rare pathologies, in particular optic disc pit.

The training programme combines lectures by leading specialists from the Filatov Institute with practical sessions, enabling participants to become familiar with modern diagnostic and surgical technologies in the field of vitreoretinal pathology..

Lectures are delivered by leading specialists from the Institute:

Mykola Mykolayovych Umanets, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Retinal and Vitreous Pathology;

Zoya Anatolyevna Rozanova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Research Fellow in the Department of Retinal and Vitreous Pathology;

Vira Serhiivna Ponomarchuk, PhD, Ophthalmologist in the Department of Vitreoretinal Microsurgery;

Inna Petrivna Dovgan, ophthalmologist at the Department of Vitreoretinal Microsurgery.

 Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded certificates worth 26 credits.
