In the field of healthcare, professional competence requires continuous updating of knowledge and skills. That is why the system of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provides for mandatory training in defined areas at least once per certification period, in accordance with Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 650.

📚 Mandatory CPD areas include:

1. Ethical issues                        

Covering principles of bioethics, confidentiality of medical information, empathetic interaction with patients, prevention of discrimination and stigma, gender equality issues, work with vulnerable population groups, and specific aspects of medical care in wartime conditions.

2. Professional counseling and communication skills

Including barrier-free communication, proper patient information, teamwork, as well as compliance with medical care standards, clinical protocols, and requirements for material and technical support.

3. Medical assessment and documentation of individuals affected by violence
Training on documentation of physical injuries, medical record keeping, communication with victims, early identification of signs of violence, patient referral algorithms, and interaction with relevant services. Special attention is paid to working with individuals affected by torture, human trafficking, domestic violence, or armed aggression.

4. Digital competence
It involves competence in electronic health systems, digital documentation tools, telemedicine, cybersecurity, and data protection.

5. Emergency medical care
It includes algorithms for responding to critical conditions, basic and advanced resuscitation, triage of casualties, actions in emergency situations, and work in multidisciplinary teams

6. Infection control
Covering prevention of hospital-acquired infections, use of personal protective equipment, sterilization of instruments, epidemiological surveillance, and control of infectious disease spread.

Employees of state specialized forensic medical institutions undergo CPD in four areas: ethics, communication skills, digital competence, and emergency care.

📊 CPD credits are awarded depending on the type of training activity (courses, trainings, conferences, etc.) in accordance with established regulatory tables.
