In the monograph elaborated on issues of the history of understanding color vision, main theories of color vision, modern aspects of the physiology of color perception and results of their own clinical studies. Clinical studies are presented with an assessment of the specificity and sensitivity of color disorders of pigment methods, spectral methods with the definition of color thresholds, as well as using the relay equation, electrophysiological methods using visual induced potentials on a color pattern, criteria for diagnosis of abnormal trichromacy and dichromasy of basic color intakes are considered. The authors proposed an algorithm for diagnosing color vision.

The monograph highlights the main issues of morphological and clinical age-related changes in the lens, modern methods of diagnosis and surgical treatment of patients with age-related cataract in lenses of varying density. Based on their own experience and data from the world literature, basic information about the use of a femtosecond laser during cataract extraction of various densities is presented. Complications of phacoemulsification in patients with dense cataract and methods of their treatment are considered in details. The authors proposed and developed improved methods of surgical treatment of dense cataract.
The monograph is of interest to practicing ophthalmologists, researchers, students of medical universities.
