- Usage of author`s method - rheophthalmography in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment
Specialists of SI "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" study hemodynamics in the eye with rhegmatogenous detachment, complicated by detachment of the neovascular membrane and the paired eye before surgery.
The occurrence of detachment of the neovascular membrane (VSO) in eyes with primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) occurs in 2-8.6% of cases.
Using author's method - rheophthalmography, specialists of the Filatov Institute note, that the lack of bloodfilling of the eye is 68.7% (in the presence of RRD with VSO) and paired eye - 40% of the norm. Indicators of eyes with uncomplicated RRD and paired eye were reduced from the norm by only 33.3% and 27%, respectively. A direct correlation between volume blood flow and intraocular pressure r = 0.5 (p < 0.05) in all patients with RRD was detected. The obtained data indicate a significant ischemic process in the eye with RRd, which is enhanced in the presence of VSO.
