Consultative polyclinic is a modern highly specialized department of the Filatov Institute which provides consultative and diagnostic aid to patients (adults and children) being referred from the medical preventive institution of Ukraine and abroad and to patients without referral. Providing consultative and medical aid is on commercial terms for patients from near and far abroad.
Consultative Polyclinic includes 28 offices, 10 of which are those of specialized departments of the Filatov’s Institute: Glaucoma, Corneal Pathology, Vascular Diseases, Vitreoretinal Microsurgery, Posttraumatic Pathology, Eye Burn Pathology, Children’s Ophthalmology, Ophthalmooncology, Cataract Microsurgery, and Laser Microsurgery. It also includes a diabetic patient’s office providing medical examination and scientific and clinical follow-up of diabetic retinopathy patients.
Polyclinic’s staff includes 1 Doctor of Medical Science, 6 Candidates of Medical Science, 8 doctors of the highest category and others. There are daily consultations by the heads of specialized departments.
A modern diagnostic center has been working at the Polyclinic since 2005. It enables to make comprehensive examination of the eye to detect early stages of such serious conditions as glaucoma, cataract, retinal dystrophy etc. and to provide highly skilled aid to all patients. There is also an office of strabismus and amblyopia treatment, an operating and procedure rooms.
The Polyclinic carries out the reception of premature babies. Improving the quality of neonatal care and intensive therapy methods resulted in increasing cases with retinopathy of prematurity – a serious disease which affects immature vascular system of the retina in premature babies. It also caused increasing the survival rate of very preterm babies. The polyclinic provides case follow-up of premature babies at risk of retinopathy and laser treatment when necessary.
The early diagnosis is also made for children with retinoblastoma that enables to give an organ-preserving treatment.
There are two working shifts:
1 shift – from 8:30 to 15:06
2 shift – from 13:00 to 19:36
Saturday and Sundays are days off.
Appointment for patients under 18 (initial and follow-up) is made in a special part of the front-desk from 8:00 am.
Please bring the following with you
· to your first appointment - Certificate of birth of a child and passport of a parent.
· to your follow-up appointment - Talon, issued during your first appointment.
Children up to 6 years old are referred to the doctor’s office at once. Children from 7 to 18 are referred to the diagnostic centre (office 8) to be examined and then to the doctor’s office.
Heads of Departments and Senior Researchers hold consultations daily from 1 p.m.
